Note: Faculty directors reserve the right to hold auditions for admittance into an ensemble or for chair placement. Faculty directors will make this determination during the first week of classes.

Symphony Orchestra (University Orchestra, Music 1132-Section 3A)
Mondays, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
This full symphony features members from the S&T and Rolla area communities and plays the great masterworks of the baroque through contemporary eras. The first rehearsal will be held on Monday, August 22 at 7:00 p.m.Chamber Orchestra (Instrumental Chamber Ensemble- Strings, Music 1134-Section 3A)

Chamber Orchestra (Instrumental Chamber Ensemble-Strings, Music 1134, Sec. 3A)
Thursdays, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Chamber Orchestra is a select group, primarily strings, but occasionally invites wind and percussion players to join for particular pieces. Chamber Orchestra can be seen performing at S&T Orchestra concerts. The first rehearsal will be held on Thursday, August 25th at 7:00 p.m.

Mondays, 4:00 pm-5:20 pm
The Symphonic Band performs the finest in traditional and contemporary wind literature for concert band. All interested players are invited to attend the first rehearsal will be held on Monday, August 22 at 4:00 p.m.

Symphonic Band (Spring) (Music 1135- Section 3A)
Tuesday – Thursday, 4:00 pm-5:20 pm
The Symphonic Band performs the finest in traditional and contemporary wind literature for concert band. In the Spring, Symphonic Band takes the place of Marching Band on the schedule.

Wind Symphony (Music 1130- Section 3B)
Monday,
Wednesday, Friday, 12:00 pm-12:50 pm
The Wind Symphony performs the finest in challenging wind literature from classical to contemporary composers. All interested players are invited to attend the first rehearsal on Monday, August 22 at 12:00 p.m.

Jazz Ensemble (Music 1136-Section 3A)
Tuesdays, 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm.
The S&T Jazz Ensemble is open to all S&T students. The class provides opportunities for students to perform contemporary and traditional big band music. Jazz Ensemble also provides students with the opportunity to perform instrumental solos (jazz improvisation) with the group. Singing with the ensemble is also another option available to S&T students. There will be a meeting for all students interested in Fall Jazz Ensemble on Tuesday, August 23 at 6:00 pm in the band room. Auditions will be held to determine lead players in the trumpet and trombone sections as well as players for the lead alto saxophone and tenor saxophone chairs. Auditions will also be held to determine jazz soloists for each song.

Individual Music Instruction (Music 1111/2111, sections 3C & 3D)
Lesson times are coordinated between instructor and student.
Section C - Dave Cress for Brass, Section D - Philip Conjerti for strings. Classes are available for lower and upper level. Dave Cress provides private instruction for brass players, jazz improvisation lessons, and drum set techniques. Contact Dave at cressdl@mst.edu if you have questions. Pep Band
Basketball season (November – April)
Open to all students, no audition required
Rehearsal/performance schedule: TBA
This student-led ensemble plays exciting pop music at all S&T Men’s and Women’s Basketball games, during PRO Days, and at other events as requested. While there is no audition, members must also play in another ensemble at S&T. There is no class credit available for Pep Band.
