We have a limited number of instruments available for students to use free of charge during the academic year. You don't have to be in an S&T ensemble to use a school instrument, but first priority will go to students in faculty-led ensembles, then those in student-led ensembles and lastly students needing to use an instrument for other usage.
To check out a university-owned instrument please fill out the “ALP Instrument Usage Agreement” below. Please email the signed AND dated form to alp@mst.edu. You will receive instructions on accessing your instrument after the form is processed (please be patient). You are expected to keep your instrument stored in the locker/room it is assigned to when not in use.

All university-owned instruments are stored in either the Instrument Storage Room, or in lockers located throughout Castleman Hall. When you’re issued an instrument, you must keep it stored in its original space when it’s not in use.
The university will ensure to the best of its ability to keep school instruments in proper working order before it’s checked out. Students will be responsible for the daily upkeep of any instrument they are issued which includes keeping valves and keys in proper working order.
Students are responsible for providing their own oil, grease, reeds, shoulder rests, rock stops, or other accessories. Reed and brass players are REQUIRED to provide their own mouthpiece when using a university-owned instrument.

Storage space in Castleman Hall is very limited. As such, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES are students allowed to store instruments or cases in the hallway or in rooms not designated for a specific instrument.
We have several lockers in the hallways of Castleman Hall as well as a string storage room (142) that students may use to store personal instruments. All lockers come with a university-owned padlock which must be used and the student checking out the locker assumes all risks.
To check out a locker or be granted access to the string storage room, please fill out the “ALP Locker Usage Agreement” below. Please email the signed AND dated form to alp@mst.edu. You will receive instructions on accessing your instrument after the form is processed (please be patient).
